Each steel product requires a tailored logistics approach. Steel plates, in particular, have a large surface area that demands specific care during transport and handling.
Following the initial tests carried out at the beginning of the year, we have successfully launched the handling of rail wagons loaded with steel plates arriving from abroad at our rail-connected terminal. Railcars reached our terminal as single wagonload traffic and have confirmed the efficiency and flexibility of our rail siding in managing complex and specialized freight.
Operations included both direct transshipment from train to trucks for final delivery, as well as storage at our warehouse, with subsequent shipments scheduled according to customer requirements. An integrated service that enhances rail-road intermodality, optimizing heavy logistics flows and contributing to the reduction of road transport.
